Listening to Dream Goblin’s latest single “I’m Here to Stay” is like stepping into a dream where the 90s are better than I ever remembered, man. It’s like the perfect version of the 90s, full of soft, dreamy vocals that float like clouds, crunchy guitars that feel like they’re coming from some otherworldly place, and sweet little synth melodies that whisper like a breeze through the trees. The drums are all dirty, raw energy, like a secret rhythm hidden in the cosmos. There’s a strong My Bloody Valentine vibe, for sure, but you can also feel the spirit of Duster and other 90s bands mixing in with those lovely pop melodies, kind of like Granddaddy. Levi, the genius behind Dream Goblin, is young, but he’s already handling all the instruments and production like a true master. It’s beautiful, man, just so beautiful.
